Cody Ditchev

In 2015, Tanko Management recruited a young female Muay Thai fighter by the name of Dakota Ditcheva. A few months down the line, her name was etched onto the ISKA British title and her face was splashed across the national press. Unsurprisingly, when the opportunity arose to enlist her older sibling on our roster, there was no hesitation. By June 2016, Cody Ditchev was sat in Tanko HQ signing on the dotted line.

Cody has been around combat sports for as long as he can recall, but didn’t fully immerse himself in Muay Thai training until he was 15. Since then, he’s gotten a little more disciplined, a little more focused and considerably more accomplished. After leaving school, Cody went on to sixth form to study Business Studies/Management. As interesting as he found the course, it never inspired him to pack a bag and hit University. Instead, Cody found himself spending more time within the confines of Northern Spirit gym – learning more about the art of eight limbs. Now, at the age of 19, Cody is following in the footsteps of his family members and considering a career in combat sports.

A fighter who’s developing quite a reputation in Muay Thai, Cody has emerged victorious in many of his bouts through a combination of smart striking and technical proficiency. He prides himself on possessing the patience and capability to choose effective shots during fights, a skill he credits his mother (Lisa Howarth) and corner team with helping him develop.

Cody is taking his Muay Thai career one step at a time, but harbours ambitions to head out into the homeland one day and train with some of the best fighters in the world. He also dreams of competing on the biggest shows in the east, hoping to share the ring with the finest competitors that Thailand has to offer.

Dakota and Cody spent their childhood growing up alongside one another in the gym, and now they’ll spend their adolescence fighting together as Tanko Management athletes. It’s thrilling stuff, and we’ll do everything we can to support these sensational siblings in their quest for combat sports success.
