Darius Palma is Tanko’s pocket rocket – small in stature but explosive in style.

Calm, cool and collected on the outside, there’s a restless enthusiasm that gurgles away inside this young athlete. Growing up, Darius discovered Muay Thai to be the ultimate release, and every fight presents him with a new opportunity to let the pent-up excitement flow out of him.

A gifted fighter and footballer, Darius continues to flit between Thai Kickboxing and semi-professional eleven-a-side, sandwiching his very own tailor-made fitness sessions into the mix whenever he gets the chance. These range from multi-mile runs around the block, to sweat-inducing pad sessions with his pals.

A fierce competitor with lightning-quick reflexes, Darius has roared his way past several professional opponents at pro level, with ambitions to surge up into the A-Class rankings. His footballing background is apparent in his fight technique, with the youngster favouring strong, rasping kicks inside the ring. The healthy, active lifestyle Darius lives has also contributed to his success, as he draws on his gigantic tank of gas to pile the pressure on his challengers from the first bell to the last.

Backed by Lisa Howarth, Leroy Atkinson and the rest of the Northern Spirit team, Darius has made astonishing progress, defying the odds to pick up wins against many high-calibre opponents. He’s reached a point where he feels as though he’s ready to compete with anyone, and knows he has the unwavering support of a wonderful combat sports family to help him achieve his lofty aims and ambitions.

A thrilling young talent with bags of energy, Darius is ready to take on the world and never look back. Tanko will be there with him every step of the way.
